Each year, at a home game in September, the St. Louis Gateway and Ft. Leonard Wood Chapters of the Association of the United States Army proudly present Military Appreciation Day at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, MO. This year's event will be hosted in the SE parking lot of Ballpark Village right across the street from Busch Stadium. At this outstanding event, we will welcome more than 2000 Soldiers, retirees, veterans and their families for food, drink, music and games before the Cardinals take on the Brewers.
We will also feature a swearing in ceremony of recruits of all branches of service on the field before the game.
The Stonewolf Golf Club will be the location for the 2016 Fall Classic to benefit the Surface Distribution & Deployment Command's Booster Club. It's time to raise money for a great cause!
The Scott Booster Club supports the Soldiers and Army Families of the commands at Scott Air Force Base and the Boosters also host the yearly Army Birthday Ball celebration.
Registration Deadline is Thursday, 6 OCT.
Our fall General Membership Meeting will be on the 7th of November at the Scott Club on Scott Air Force Base. The Chapter will review the year and what we have planned for 2017.
In addition, we will have professionals speaking about how corporations can work with Soldiers who are getting ready to ETS and transition to the civilian workforce.
This meeting will also serve as our bi-annual Board elections so if you are interested in joining the Board of the St. Louis Gateway Chapter, let us know!
The Soldier for Life mindset is a holistic approach to the military life cycle career of a Soldier. The U.S. Army takes care of teammates by ensuring Soldiers start strong, serve strong, and reintegrate strong so they remain Army Strong serving their communities after they leave the Army. The U.S. Army's strategic imperative of sustaining the All Volunteer Army is directly affected by how well the veterans reintegrate back into the communities. Gen. George Washington said,
"The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional to how they perceive the veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated by their nation."
From being members of our local chapter to donating items for our events, we couldn't do it without our Corporate Partners. Support from companies like these are the backbone of strong financial support to our Soldiers and their families. AUSA’s Corporate Members are local businesses, large corporations, civic groups, veteran’s organizations, societies and local community groups.
This program provides Corporate Members the opportunity to demonstrate to the community that they support Soldiers and their families while strengthening their own business opportunities for as little as $150 per year.
Your membership in the AUSA is what makes events to support Soldiers, veterans, retirees and their families possible like our annual Leadership Awards Ceremony where we recognize the Soldiers of the Year from Missouri & Illinois and award scholarships to outstanding students. Our members are also the driving force behind Military Appreciation Day at Busch Stadium where we feed over 1200 Soldiers before the game.
We are THE Association of the United States Army. We are your professional organization for keeping you current on issues that affect you and your family. Membership is only $30 for 2 years or $300 to be a life member.
