We had a fantastic day of golf and fundraising at the 2016 annual AUSA Golft Tournament held at Sunset Country Club on 13 JUN. The heat index tipped the scales into the low triple digits but we had a great time and raised a lot of money for the scholarship fund that will be awarded at the 2017 Leadership Awards Ceremony. The weather started to turn a little sour after dinner which chased quite a few of our golfers to their cars but TNT Auction & Estate Services still managed to help us raise over $1700 from the donated auction items.
Our sincerest thanks to all of our sponsors, players and volunteers not to mention the staff at Sunset Country Club who really knocked it out of the park. See you next year!
This year's Leadership Awards Ceremony, held on 24 APR 2016 at the Missouri Athletic Club, was our largest yet approaching close to 300 attendees to help us recognize and award the Soldiers of the Year, Senior NCOs of the Year, Academic Leaders, Corporate Member of the Year and some of our outstanding volunteers who make everything we do possible.
MG David Clarkson of USTRANSCOM was our guest speaker, the Vashon High School JROTC presented the Colors and the USTRANSCOM Joint Service Color Guard performed the Missing Man Ceremony and helped kick off the evening where we awarded almost $30,000 in awards and scholarships.
Each year, at a home game in September, the St. Louis Gateway and Ft. Leonard Wood Chapters of the Association of the United States Army proudly present Military Appreciation Day at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, MO. This year's event will be hosted in the SE parking lot of Ballpark Village right across the street from Busch Stadium. At this outstanding event, we will welcome more than 1200 Soldiers, retirees, veterans and their families for food, drink, music and games before the Cardinals take on the Brewers. We will also feature a swearing in ceremony of recruits of all branches of service on the field before the game.
Tickets to be sold @ Scott AFB and FLW.
The Soldier for Life mindset is a holistic approach to the military life cycle career of a Soldier. The U.S. Army takes care of teammates by ensuring Soldiers start strong, serve strong, and reintegrate strong so they remain Army Strong serving their communities after they leave the Army. The U.S. Army's strategic imperative of sustaining the All Volunteer Army is directly affected by how well the veterans reintegrate back into the communities. Gen. George Washington said,
"The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional to how they perceive the veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated by their nation."
From being members of our local chapter to donating items for our events, we couldn't do it without our Corporate Partners. Support from companies like these are the backbone of strong financial support to our Soldiers and their families. AUSA’s Corporate Members are local businesses, large corporations, civic groups, veteran’s organizations, societies and local community groups.
This program provides Corporate Members the opportunity to demonstrate to the community that they support Soldiers and their families while strengthening their own business opportunities for as little as $150 per year.
Your membership in the AUSA is what makes events to support Soldiers, veterans, retirees and their families possible like our annual Leadership Awards Ceremony where we recognize the Soldiers of the Year from Missouri & Illinois and award scholarships to outstanding students. Our members are also the driving force behind Military Appreciation Day at Busch Stadium where we feed over 1200 Soldiers before the game.
We are THE Association of the United States Army. We are your professional organization for keeping you current on issues that affect you and your family. Membership is only $30 for 2 years or $300 to be a life member.
